VERTEX propose ce kit piston pour POLARIS SCRAMBLER 400, SPORT 400, SPORTSMAN 400, XPLORER 400, XPLORER 400 L 4X4 de 1994 à 2013. Le piston coulisse dans le cylindre et reçoit la force de l’explosion du mélange air-essence, qu’il transmet à la bielle puis au vilebrequin.

Pourquoi choisir un piston coulé ?

Le piston coulé est obtenu en versant l’aluminium liquide dans un moule : c’est la solution d’origine de la plupart des constructeurs, surtout sur les 2 temps.

• Alliage riche en silicium : il se dilate peu, se monte avec un jeu serré et reste silencieux à froid.
• Bonne résistance à l’usure de la jupe et des gorges de segments.
• Prix plus doux qu’un forgé, pour une qualité d’origine en utilisation normale.
• Limite : moins tolérant à la surchauffe et aux moteurs très préparés.

Pourquoi choisir VERTEX ?

Vertex fabrique ses pistons en Italie depuis 1953 et fournit les pistons d’origine de KTM depuis 1996 : jupe revêtue de bisulfure de molybdène et segments japonais. Ses pistons 4 temps sont forgés en alliage 2618.

Quand remplacer le piston de votre POLARIS SPORTSMAN 400 ?

Démarrage plus difficile, perte de puissance, fumée bleue, consommation d’huile ou claquement à froid : ce sont les signes d’un haut moteur fatigué.
