The MOTO-MASTER front sprocket is designed for SUZUKI RM 125, RMZ 250 from 1981 to 2012. The front sprocket drives the chain at the gearbox output. Small and working hard, it wears faster than the rear sprocket: it's also the simplest way to change the bike's gearing.
Start from the stock number of teeth. One tooth less on the front sprocket shortens the gearing (more acceleration, ideal on tight terrain); one tooth more lengthens it (more speed on fast tracks). One tooth on the front sprocket is worth roughly three to four teeth on the rear sprocket.
Check it every time you service the chain and replace it along with the rear sprocket and the chain. Many riders change the front sprocket with every new chain, because it wears much faster than the rear sprocket.
In motocross, Moto-Master was working with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team as early as 2010, and it backed the MXGP world championship in 2015. On the technical side, the Flame profile of its discs is designed to improve cooling and go easy on the pads, and its Racing GP sintered pads use a backing plate with hooks (NRS technology) that stops the friction material from coming away.
Should the rear sprocket be changed too?
If it's worn, yes: a new front sprocket running on a tired rear sprocket and chain is worn out within a few hours.
