KEIHIN offers this carburettor. The carburettor sits between the air filter and the engine and prepares the air-fuel mixture the engine will burn.
The benefits:
Keihin, founded in Japan in 1956 and long nearly half-owned by Honda, supplies original equipment to Honda as well as Suzuki, Kawasaki and KTM; its FCR carburettor, whose flat slide runs on roller bearings, was developed in Superbike racing.
A cracked body, a slide with play in its bore, damaged threads or carburation that cannot be stabilised despite a full clean: the carburettor needs replacing.
Cross-Mania tip: Check the diameter of the inlet manifold and the airbox connection, the type of throttle cable and the routing of the vent hoses, then fine-tune the setting (jets, needle, mixture screw) with the engine warm, starting from the setting supplied.
Universal part: check the dimensions given before ordering.
