MOTUL offers this gearbox oil. On a two-stroke bike, the engine is lubricated by the oil mixed with the fuel: the gearbox and clutch run in a separate oil, in their own casing.
Why change the gearbox oil?
The benefits:
- Gears that shift more easily and a neutral that is easier to find.
- A more progressive clutch that slips and drags less.
- An oil change flushes out the clutch wear particles that circulate in the oil and damage gears and bearings.
When should you replace this part?
Change it at the number of hours given by the manufacturer, more often if the clutch works hard (technical enduro, trials, starts); black oil or notchy gear changes are signs of tired oil.
