JT SPROCKETS drive chain.
The JT SPROCKETS JTC520HDSGB120SL drive chain. The chain transmits power from the front sprocket to the rear sprocket. Off-road, it works in mud, sand and water: a quality chain, correctly tensioned and lubed, keeps the drivetrain smooth and makes the sprockets last.
Replace the chain when the adjusters reach the end of their travel or as soon as it has tight spots, and always together with the front and rear sprockets if they're worn.
Its front sprockets are made from SCM420 chromium-molybdenum steel, and the MX models are fully heat-treated and feature self-cleaning grooves. The steel rear sprockets are made from induction-hardened high-carbon steel, and the RaceLite rear sprockets for racing are CNC-machined from certified 7075-T6 (Ergal) aluminium.
Sealed or non-sealed chain?
An O-ring or X-ring chain keeps its grease inside and lasts longer. A non-sealed chain has less friction and is still popular in motocross, but needs lubing more often.
Should the sprockets be changed?
If they're worn, yes: a new chain running on a worn front sprocket and rear sprocket gets damaged very quickly.
