The hose that carries brake fluid from the lever or pedal to the caliper, in a stainless braided version that does not swell.
TECNIUM offers this braided brake hose. When you pull the lever or press the pedal, brake fluid is pushed through the hose to the caliper, which squeezes the pads onto the disc.
Why fit a braided brake hose?
The benefits:
- A firmer lever: the effort you put in really reaches the pads.
- Braking that is easy to modulate and does not go soft when the brakes get hot.
- The stainless braid stands up to rubbing and flying debris better than a rubber hose.
When should you replace the brake hose?
A spongy lever, or a cracked, bulging or weeping hose: the hose must be replaced.
