The clutch pump on the left of the handlebar: it turns the pressure on the lever into hydraulic pressure to disengage the clutch, with no cable.
NISSIN offers this clutch master cylinder. When you pull the lever, it pushes a piston in the master cylinder. The fluid, pushed down the hose, operates the slave cylinder on the engine, which separates the clutch plates.
The benefits:
Nissin, the Japanese brake maker founded in 1953 (now part of Astemo), has produced motorcycle master cylinders since 1971 and disc brakes since 1974; Honda, formerly its largest shareholder, fits Nissin calipers as original equipment on its CR and CRF models.
A leak at the lever, a soft lever or a bite point that moves: the clutch drags, gears are hard to select and the bike creeps forward with the clutch pulled in.
Cross-Mania tip: Use the specified fluid (mineral oil or DOT depending on the system) and bleed the circuit after fitting.
Universal part: check the dimensions given before ordering.
