The LEATT 6.5 Boots are motocross and enduro boots that protect your foot, ankle and shin, in red.
Boots are the rider's hardest-working protection: they must limit ankle twisting, absorb impacts from rocks and the bike's skid plate, and stay flexible enough to feel the gear lever and the brake pedal.
LEATT was born in South Africa from the Leatt-Brace, the neck protection device invented by Dr Christopher Leatt after a fatal racing accident. Since then, the brand has designed protection and gear tested in real-world conditions, with rider safety as its guiding principle.
Sizes are given in European sizing (US equivalents and foot length in the specifications). Try the boots on with long motorcycle socks and allow a few rides to break them in before a race. After riding, rinse off the mud with water, without using a pressure washer on the stitching, and let them air-dry. Tuck your pants into the boots so they don't snag.
Are the boots stiff at first?
Yes, new boots need a few rides to mould to your foot and ankle; never race in a pair you have not worn before.
How do I look after motocross boots?
Rinse off the mud with water after every ride, avoid pressure-washing the stitching and buckles, let them air-dry and check the buckles and sole regularly.
