PIVOT WORKS offers this wheel bearing for HONDA CR 80, CR 85 1988-2007. Each wheel spins on two bearings in the hub, separated by a spacer. Water and mud eventually damage them: play, rough spots, noise.

What is this bearing made of?

Races and balls in hardened chrome steel, 100Cr6 type, very hard and fatigue-resistant, protected by rubber seals.

• Double seal (2RS): a seal on each side, very well sealed against water and mud, essential off-road.
• Limit: slightly more drag than a metal-shielded bearing (ZZ), which spins more freely but seals far less well.
• Fitting: press or drift it in on the outer race, never hammer on the seal; keep the pressure washer away from the hubs.

When should you replace the bearings on your HONDA CR 80?

Check the wheels for play at every wash with the wheel off the ground: a failing bearing can lock the wheel. Pressure washing forces water in and speeds up wear.
