A calibrated washer fitted against the big end of the connecting rod to set its side play when a crankshaft is rebuilt.

HOT RODS offers this connecting rod thrust washer. The connecting rod turns around the crank pin, between the two crankshaft flywheels. It needs a little play on each side to turn freely, but not too much, otherwise it wanders and rubs against the flywheels.
