ATHENA offers these valve stem seals for KTM EXC 400, EXC 620, SX 400, SX 540, SX 620 and HONDA XR 600 1985-1999. Each valve slides in a guide. At the top of the guide, a small seal (the valve stem seal) lets through just enough oil to lubricate but stops it running into the combustion chamber.
Why replace the valve stem seals?

When should you replace this part?
Blue smoke on start-up after standing overnight is the typical sign of hardened seals. They are also replaced at every head rebuild, even if they look fine.
