BOYESEN offers this reed valve block for SUZUKI RM 250 2001. On a two-stroke engine, the reed valve sits between the carburettor and the engine. Its reeds open to let the air-fuel mixture in, then close to stop it coming back out.
The benefits:
Boyesen invented the dual-stage reed: a soft petal for low and mid revs, a stiffer one for top end, for more torque everywhere.
Split or chipped petals, or petals that no longer seal on their seat: the engine spits back, lacks pick-up and uses more fuel.
Cross-Mania tip: Fit a new reed block gasket, tighten the screws in a cross pattern to the specified torque and check the carburation after fitting a performance unit.
