Shims to set the correct valve clearance, sold in packs of 5 of the same thickness.

Available in several thicknesses.

PROX offers these valve shims. On a 4-stroke engine there must be a small clearance between the camshaft and each valve: the shim, fitted on the valve, lets you set it to the hundredth of a millimetre.

Why a pack of 5?

The benefits:

Enough to set several valves with the same thickness, or keep spares for the next check.
Shims ground to the exact thickness.
Diameter to suit your engine (see specifications).

Why choose PROX?

ProX, the Dutch engine-parts specialist since 1975, has its parts made in factories that also supply the manufacturers: OEM quality at a more affordable price.

When should the valve clearance be set?

Clearance is checked at the manufacturer’s intervals, with the engine cold. An exhaust valve whose clearance keeps closing up is often a sign of a worn valve or seat.

Specifications and fitting tips

Diameter: 9.48 mm

Choose the thickness from the list after measuring the valve clearance with the engine cold.

Cross-Mania tip: Measure the clearance with the engine cold, note the thickness of the fitted shim (engraved or measured with a micrometer), work out the thickness needed and check the diameter of your original shims before ordering.
