A wrench that tightens the bike’s nuts and bolts to exactly the force the manufacturer specifies.
DRAPER offers this torque wrench. Every important bolt on the bike has a tightening torque, a force given in Nm in the workshop manual.
The benefits:
Draper is a British family business founded in 1919 by Bert Draper in Kingston upon Thames, based since 1963 in Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire, and run by the family for three generations. Its catalogue lists more than 11,000 hand, power and automotive tools and workshop equipment items.
A wrench that has been dropped, a less distinct click, a setting that sticks or a torque that seems wrong: have it checked and recalibrated; as a precaution, regular checks (about once a year or depending on use) keep tightening accurate.
Cross-Mania tip: Choose a wrench whose range covers your torque values without working at the extremes, pull slowly and steadily on the handle until it clicks and, on a click-type wrench, wind the setting back to the bottom of the range after use.
Workshop tool: it works on any motorcycle or ATV. Just check the size or dimension stated.
