The chain linking the crankshaft to the camshaft so the valves and piston stay in sync.
VERTEX offers this cam chain for YAMAHA YFZ 450 2009-2021. In a four-stroke engine, the timing chain transfers the crankshaft’s motion to the camshaft.
Why replace the timing chain?
The benefits:
- Replace a stretched, noisy chain.
- Restore precise valve timing.
- Best replaced with the tensioner and guides for a fully new set.
Why choose VERTEX?
Vertex has manufactured in Italy since 1953 and has supplied KTM’s original pistons since 1996 (KTM, Husqvarna, GASGAS), with ISO 9001-certified production.
When should you replace the timing chain on your YAMAHA YFZ 450?
Hard hot starting, valve clearance that keeps closing up or a noisy timing chain: the valve train is wearing.
