PROX offers this cam chain for HONDA FT 500, XL 400, XL 400 S, XL 500 S, XR 500 1979-1984. In a four-stroke engine, the timing chain transfers the crankshaft’s motion to the camshaft.

Why replace the timing chain?

The benefits:

• Replace a stretched, noisy chain.
• Restore precise valve timing.
• Best replaced with the tensioner and guides for a fully new set.

Why choose PROX?

ProX, the Dutch engine-parts specialist since 1975, has its parts made in factories that also supply the manufacturers: OEM quality at a more affordable price.

When should you replace the timing chain on your HONDA XR 500?

Hard hot starting, valve clearance that keeps closing up or a noisy timing chain: the valve train is wearing.
