PIVOT WORKS Swingarm Bearing Kit for HONDA TRX 250 1987-1992

The PIVOT WORKS PWSAKH17320 swingarm bearing kit is designed for HONDA TRX 250 from 1987 to 1992. The needle bearings and bushings of the swingarm work every time the suspension compresses, in the middle of water and mud. Worn or seized, they make the suspension harsh and vague and end up wearing the bolts. This kit brings together the bearings, seals and bushings needed for the rebuild.

When to replace it?

• Play when you lift the rear wheel, bike on a stand.
• Suspension that creaks, sticks or reacts less well over small bumps.
• Rusty needles, torn seals or marked bushings on teardown.

Your bike's service manual gives the exact interval. As a Cross-Mania guideline: strip, clean and grease every 20 to 30 hours of racing or after very muddy rides, once a season for leisure riding; replace as soon as play or a tight spot appears.

Fitting tips

1. Note the position of each part as you strip it, side by side.
2. Press the needle bearings out, or use a suitable puller, without making the bores oval.
3. Press the new bearings in squarely, to the same depth as the old ones.
4. Pack bearings, bushings and seal lips with grease before reassembly.
5. Tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's torque and check that the suspension moves freely, without play.
