From trackside to the drive home, the LEATT RideViz Lite Small Sunglasses keep your vision comfortable in bright sunshine, in the blue colourway.
In the paddock, watching the motos or loading the van, the sun quickly tires your eyes. Sunglasses reduce glare; the tint and lens type, given in the name, tell you which light conditions they're made for.
LEATT was born in South Africa from the Leatt-Brace, the neck protection device invented by Dr Christopher Leatt after a fatal racing accident. Since then, the brand has designed protection and gear tested in real-world conditions, with rider safety as its guiding principle.
These sunglasses are no substitute for motocross goggles: to ride off-road with a helmet, only goggles protect your eyes from roost and dust. Clean the lenses with clean water and dry them with a microfibre cloth, never dry-wipe them. Keep them in a case to avoid scratches.
What does VLT mean?
It's the percentage of visible light the lens lets through: a low VLT (dark lens) suits bright sun, a high VLT (light lens) suits overcast weather or the end of the day.
Polarised or photochromic lenses: what's the difference?
A polarised lens cuts reflections from water, wet roads or shiny surfaces; a photochromic lens darkens or lightens with the brightness. The lens type is given in the product name.
