The fixed part of the alternator, under the ignition cover: its windings produce the current for the ignition, the lights and battery charging.
ELECTROSPORT offers this stator for HONDA NX 650 DOMINATOR, XR 650 L 1989-1993. The stator produces the electricity the machine needs to run. It is fixed under the ignition cover, and the flywheel, with its magnets, spins around it with the engine.
Why replace the stator?
The benefits:
- Get a normal spark and battery charge back after a winding has burnt out.
- A part designed to fit in place of the original, with no modification.
- Repair the charging and ignition without replacing the whole alternator: the original flywheel is kept.
Why choose ELECTROSPORT?
ElectroSport has supplied stators, regulator/rectifiers and CDI ignitions for dirt bikes, road bikes and ATVs since 1998, and makes all its components in its own factory in California, giving it control over manufacturing and testing.
When should you replace this part?
Blackened windings or burnt varnish, a battery that no longer charges although the regulator is fine, an engine that cuts out when hot or no spark: test the windings with a multimeter.
Specifications and fitting tips
- Manufacturer part number: ESG090
Cross-Mania tip: Fit a new ignition cover gasket, secure the stator screws as the manufacturer specifies (threadlocker) and route the wiring through its grommet, well away from the flywheel.
