ARROWHEAD Starter repair kit - SMU9115 for POLARIS SCRAMBLER 400, SPORT 400, TRAIL BLAZER 250, TRAIL BOSS 250, XPLORER 400 L 4X4

ARROWHEAD offers this starter part for POLARIS SCRAMBLER 400, SPORT 400, TRAIL BLAZER 250, TRAIL BOSS 250, XPLORER 400 L 4X4 1990-2006. When you press the button, the starter relay, a switch that can handle a very heavy current, connects the battery to the starter motor.

Why repair rather than replace everything?

The benefits:

• Reliable push-button starting again, even with a hot engine or after a fall.
• Replacing only the worn part (relay, brushes or starter drive) costs far less than a complete starter.
• New seals keep water from river crossings and the pressure washer out of the starter.

When should you replace this part?

Just a click when you press the button, a starter that turns slowly or jerkily, or one that spins freely without turning the engine: check the relay, brushes and starter drive.

Specifications and fitting tips

• Manufacturer part number: 414-54009

Cross-Mania tip: Disconnect the battery before working, clean and tighten the heavy cable terminals, and fit new O-rings on the starter when reassembling to keep water out.
