BIHR offers this carburettor tool. The carburettor (or fuel injection) meters the mix of air and fuel entering the engine. Dedicated tools are used to adjust it: a vacuum gauge to balance several carburettors against each other, a gauge to read the size of a jet, a key to drain the float bowl, or an auxiliary tank that feeds the engine when the original tank is removed.
The benefits:
Bihr is a distributor from Alsace founded in 1975 by Cyrille Bihr, who started out with a bicycle and motorcycle repair shop in Hegenheim. Based in Bartenheim, it supplies more than 200,000 parts from seven European warehouses and develops its own range of parts and workshop tools.
A gauge that no longer returns to zero, dirty or low fluid in the vacuum gauge, an adaptor that lets air in or a key with a rounded profile: replace the part, otherwise the reading is wrong or the screw gets damaged.
Cross-Mania tip: Make adjustments with the engine warm, on level ground and in a ventilated area, and note the original position of the mixture screws before touching them so you can go back.
Workshop tool: it works on any motorcycle or ATV. Just check the size or dimension stated.
