The piston moves up and down in the cylinder to turn combustion into motion: this kit replaces it along with its rings, pin and clips.

PROX offers this piston kit for YAMAHA WR 250, YZ 250 1988-1998. The piston slides in the cylinder and takes the force of the air-fuel combustion, passing it to the connecting rod and crankshaft.

      Why replace the piston?

      The benefits:

      • Restore compression, power and easy starting.
      • A piston of the right size keeps the intended clearance in the cylinder: less noise and less oil consumption.
      • A new piston with rings, pin and clips: nothing to reuse from the old one.

      Why choose PROX?

ProX has its pistons made in Japan and the USA, with Japanese rings (Riken, TP or NPR) and tolerances at least equal to OEM; most of its four-stroke pistons are forged.

When should you replace the piston on your YAMAHA YZ 250?

Harder starting, loss of power, blue smoke, oil consumption or a knock when cold: these are the signs of a tired top end.

No manufacturer hour figure for this model. Cross-Mania guideline: compression check every 20 h in hard use and every 40 h for leisure.
