RACETECH Plastic Skid Plate for HUSQVARNA FC 450, KTM SXF 450 and GAS GAS MCF 450 2019-2023

The RACETECH skid plate is designed for KTM SXF 450, HUSQVARNA FC 450 and GAS GAS MCF 450 from 2019 to 2023. Mounted under the engine, the skid plate takes the hits instead of the crankcases and the frame. In enduro and on rocky terrain it's essential protection; in motocross it also limits wear on the bottom of the frame.

Choosing the colour

The colour doesn't change the protection: pick it to match your bike's graphics.

When do you need it?

• Crankcases scratched or marked under the engine.
• Riding enduro, extreme enduro or rocky terrain.
• Old skid plate cracked, bent or with broken mounts.

The skid plate is specific to each frame: check the model and years. A plastic skid plate is light and slides well over obstacles; an aluminium skid plate stands up better to violent impacts.

Fitting tips

1. Clean the bottom of the engine and frame, and check the condition of the mounting points.
2. Offer up the skid plate and start its fasteners without tightening, checking that it touches neither the gear lever, nor the brake pedal, nor the hoses.
3. Tighten the bolts gradually, then check that nothing rubs with the suspension compressed.
4. Check that everything is still tight after the first few rides: vibration can loosen the fasteners.
