RACETECH Plastic Skid Plate for GAS GAS ECF 250, ECF 350, MCF 250, HUSQVARNA FC 250, FC 350 and KTM SXF 250, SXF 350 2019-2023

The RACETECH skid plate is designed for GAS GAS ECF 250, ECF 350, MCF 250, KTM SXF 250, SXF 350 and HUSQVARNA FC 250, FC 350 from 2019 to 2023. Mounted under the engine, the skid plate takes the hits instead of the crankcases and the frame. In enduro and on rocky terrain it's essential protection; in motocross it also limits wear on the bottom of the frame.

Choosing the colour

The colour doesn't change the protection: pick it to match your bike's graphics.

When do you need it?

• Crankcases scratched or marked under the engine.
• Riding enduro, extreme enduro or rocky terrain.
• Old skid plate cracked, bent or with broken mounts.

The skid plate is specific to each frame: check the model and years. A plastic skid plate is light and slides well over obstacles; an aluminium skid plate stands up better to violent impacts.

Fitting tips

1. Clean the bottom of the engine and frame, and check the condition of the mounting points.
2. Offer up the skid plate and start its fasteners without tightening, checking that it touches neither the gear lever, nor the brake pedal, nor the hoses.
3. Tighten the bolts gradually, then check that nothing rubs with the suspension compressed.
4. Check that everything is still tight after the first few rides: vibration can loosen the fasteners.

Why RACETECH?

Racetech, now also sold under the Rtech name, is an Italian brand launched in 2002 by Cristian Mittone, a former professional enduro rider, and based in Premariacco, near Udine. Its catalogue runs to more than 5,000 parts in plastic, aluminium and rubber, from plastic kits to handguards and chain guides.

Frequently asked questions

Does a skid plate make the engine run hot?
A well-designed skid plate lets air circulate. Clear out the mud that builds up between the skid plate and the engine after every ride.

Plastic or aluminium?
Plastic is lighter and slides over roots and rocks; aluminium stands up better to violent impacts. This skid plate's material is given in the specifications.
