HINSON offers this clutch steel plate kit for HONDA CR 125, CRF 250, CRF 250 RX ENDURO, TRX 250 R FOURTRAX 2WD, XR 400, KTM EXCF 250, SXF 250, XCF 250 and YAMAHA YZ 125 1986-2027. The clutch is a stack of plates: friction plates and plain steel plates. When you release the lever, the springs squeeze them together and the engine drives the gearbox.

When should you replace the clutch plates?

Measure the friction plate thickness and the spring free length: below the manufacturer's minimum they must be replaced. Blued or warped steel plates are replaced too.

Cross-Mania tip: Soak the friction plates in gearbox oil before fitting, check the basket for notches and replace the springs at the same time.
