Set of piston rings Ø47MM PROX for YAMAHA PW 80 1986-2011

PROX offers this piston ring set for YAMAHA PW 80 1986-2011. Rings are thin steel bands sitting in the piston grooves. They press against the cylinder wall to hold compression and scrape oil.

Why replace the rings?

The benefits:

• Regain compression and power.
• Reduce oil consumption and smoke.
• A cheap fix when piston and cylinder are still within spec.

Why choose PROX?

ProX has its pistons made in Japan and the USA, with Japanese rings (Riken, TP or NPR) and tolerances at least equal to OEM; most of its four-stroke pistons are forged.

When should you replace the piston rings on your YAMAHA PW 80?

Harder starting, loss of power, blue smoke, oil consumption or a knock when cold: these are the signs of a tired top end.

No manufacturer hour figure for this model. Cross-Mania guideline: compression check every 15 h in hard use and every 30 h for leisure.
