RACETECH Seat Foam standard height for KTM and GAS GAS 2018-2023

The RACETECH hauteur standard R-SPUKTM10019 seat foam is designed for KTM EXC 250, EXC 300, EXCF 250, EXCF 350, EXCF 450, EXCF 500, SX 125, SX 150, SX 250, SXF 250, SXF 350, SXF 450, XCF 450 and GAS GAS EC 250, EC 300, ECF 250, ECF 350, MC 125, MCF 250, MCF 450 from 2018 to 2023. New foam gives the seat back its height and firmness. In a tall version, it raises the seat for tall riders and opens up the knee angle, both when seated and in transitions between standing and sitting.

When to replace it?

• Seat hollowed out: you can feel the seat base when sitting down.
• Foam waterlogged, crumbling or smelly.
• Seat lower than stock, riding position altered.
• Tall rider bothered by the stock height.

Replace the foam when it's compressed or waterlogged, ideally at the same time as the cover. The height is given in the name: standard to get back the stock seat, tall (+10 or +15 mm depending on the model) for a tall rider or one who prefers a higher position.

Fitting tips

1. Remove the seat, then take out the staples and the cover.
2. Remove the old foam, clean the base and check that it isn't cracked.
3. Fit the new foam squarely on the base; a little spray adhesive on the base stops it moving.
4. Staple on a new or good-condition seat cover, pulled tight, working from the centre out to the ends.

Does a tall foam change the seat height?
Yes, by the amount given in the name. Make sure you can still put a foot down confidently, especially in enduro.

Can I keep my cover?
If it's in good condition, yes. On a tall foam the original cover may be a tight fit: a new cover is easier to stretch into place.
