The RACETECH hauteur standard R-SPUGG010024 seat foam is designed for GAS GAS EC 125, EC 250, EC 300, ECF 250, ECF 350, ECF 450, ECF 500, EX 250, EX 300, EXF 250, EXF 350, EXF 450, MC 125, MC 150, MC 300, MCF 250, MCF 350, MCF 450 from 2023 to 2026. The seat foam absorbs bumps when you're sitting down and gives the seat its shape. Over the hours it compresses, hollows out where you sit and soaks up water: the seat becomes uncomfortable and your position on the bike changes.

When to replace it?

• Seat hollowed out: you can feel the seat base when sitting down.
• Foam waterlogged, crumbling or smelly.
• Seat lower than stock, riding position altered.
• Tall rider bothered by the stock height.

Replace the foam when it's compressed or waterlogged, ideally at the same time as the cover. The height is given in the name: standard to get back the stock seat, tall (+10 or +15 mm depending on the model) for a tall rider or one who prefers a higher position.

Fitting tips

1. Remove the seat, then take out the staples and the cover.
2. Remove the old foam, clean the base and check that it isn't cracked.
3. Fit the new foam squarely on the base; a little spray adhesive on the base stops it moving.
4. Staple on a new or good-condition seat cover, pulled tight, working from the centre out to the ends.

Does a tall foam change the seat height?
Yes, by the amount given in the name. Make sure you can still put a foot down confidently, especially in enduro.

Can I keep my cover?
If it's in good condition, yes. On a tall foam the original cover may be a tight fit: a new cover is easier to stretch into place.
