SELLE DALLA VALLE Wave Seat Cover - Black for YAMAHA WRF 250, WRF 450, YZF 250, YZF 450 2014-2023

On YAMAHA WRF 250, WRF 450, YZF 250, YZF 450 from 2014 to 2023, the SELLE DALLA VALLE Wave - noir SDV003W seat cover fits in place of the original part. Worn, torn or gone smooth, the cover lets water soak into the foam, which gets heavier and breaks down. A new cover gives the rider back their grip and protects the foam for longer.

Key features

• Wave cover: moderate grip at the front and a padded non-slip rear section, so you can shift position without standing up; suited to endurance riding.
• Cover hand-stitched in Italy.

Specifications

• Brand: SELLE DALLA VALLE
• Manufacturer part number: SDV003W
• EAN code: 8052204296750
• Weight: 300 g

When to replace it?

• Cover split, coming unstitched or holed: water gets into the foam.
• Surface gone smooth: you slide back under acceleration.
• Foam that stays damp after washing.
• New graphics: a colour to match the plastics.

Replace the cover as soon as it splits or comes unstitched: waterlogged foam compresses and breaks down from the inside. Check that it fits your model and its years: the shape of the seat changes from one generation to the next.

Fitting tips

1. Remove the seat and pull out the old cover's staples with pliers or a thin screwdriver, without damaging the foam.
2. Take the opportunity to check the seat foam: if it's compressed or torn, replace it.
3. Centre the new cover and staple it first in the middle at the front and rear, then along the sides, stretching the material gradually.
4. Put a staple every 2 to 3 cm; if needed, warm the cover slightly with a heat gun to shape it without wrinkles.
5. Trim off the excess material and refit the seat.

Frequently asked questions

What tools do I need?
A heavy-duty stapler (manual or pneumatic) and short stainless steel staples, which won't rust with washing.

Is the cover waterproof?
In good condition it stops water getting in from the top, but water can still get in through the staples and the underside of the seat. Let the seat dry after washing.
