INNTECK Seat Cover - Blue for HUSABERG FE 390, FE 450, FE 570 2009-2012

The INNTECK CS-10050 seat cover is designed for HUSABERG FE 390, FE 450, FE 570 from 2009 to 2012. The seat cover wraps the foam and protects it from water, mud and wear. On an off-road bike it also plays a part in riding: a grippy cover keeps you in place under acceleration and lets you grip the bike with your legs, without sliding backwards.

When to replace it?

• Cover split, coming unstitched or holed: water gets into the foam.
• Surface gone smooth: you slide back under acceleration.
• Foam that stays damp after washing.
• New graphics: a colour to match the plastics.

Replace the cover as soon as it splits or comes unstitched: waterlogged foam compresses and breaks down from the inside. Check that it fits your model and its years: the shape of the seat changes from one generation to the next.

Fitting tips

1. Remove the seat and pull out the old cover's staples with pliers or a thin screwdriver, without damaging the foam.
2. Take the opportunity to check the seat foam: if it's compressed or torn, replace it.
3. Centre the new cover and staple it first in the middle at the front and rear, then along the sides, stretching the material gradually.
4. Put a staple every 2 to 3 cm; if needed, warm the cover slightly with a heat gun to shape it without wrinkles.
5. Trim off the excess material and refit the seat.

What tools do I need?
A heavy-duty stapler (manual or pneumatic) and short stainless steel staples, which won't rust with washing.

Is the cover waterproof?
In good condition it stops water getting in from the top, but water can still get in through the staples and the underside of the seat. Let the seat dry after washing.
