METEOR Piston Pin Circlips Ø15 mm ref. CP.15.12B

The METEOR Ø15 mm CP.15.12B set of piston pin circlips is a universal part. Piston pin circlips hold the pin in place inside the piston. If one comes out of its groove, the pin scores the cylinder and the engine is wrecked. These small parts cost next to nothing but must never be reused.

When to replace it?

• Circlip distorted, opened up or marked on teardown.
• Circlip already removed once: it has lost its tension.
• Wear marks in the piston groove.

Every time the piston pin is removed: a circlip that has been taken out is always replaced with a new one.

Fitting tips

1. Check that the circlip size matches your piston pin (see specifications).
2. Plug the crankcase opening with a rag before fitting the circlips: one dropped into the engine means a full strip-down.
3. Fit each circlip without distorting it, gap opposite the notch in the piston, and check it sits all the way round its groove.

How many circlips do I need?
Two per piston, one on each side of the pin. Check the quantity stated for the part number.

Can I reuse the old circlips?
No: a circlip that has been removed loses its tension and may come out of its groove. Always fit new ones.
