ITALKIT Piston Pin 12x8x31 mm

The ITALKIT 12x8x31 mm BUP.12.31 piston pin is a universal part. Small but heavily loaded, the pin transmits the piston's thrust to the connecting rod. A marked or oval pin creates play and noise, and wears the small end.

When to replace it?

• Metallic knocking at idle or when closing the throttle.
• Pin marked, blued or scored on teardown.
• Noticeable play between the pin and the small end or the piston bosses.

Check the pin at every piston change and replace it as soon as it is marked, blued or has play. A new pin always goes in with new circlips.

Fitting tips

1. Check that the pin diameter and length match your piston (see specifications).
2. Oil the pin, the small end and the piston bosses, then push the pin in by hand, without forcing it.
3. Fit new piston pin circlips, gap opposite the notch, and check they sit properly in their groove.
