VERTEX Piston Pin 20x13x63 mm

The VERTEX 20x13x63 mm BUP.20.63 piston pin is a universal part. The piston pin connects the piston to the connecting rod and takes the full force of every combustion. It works in the small end and in the piston bosses: over the hours it wears or gets marked, and play appears.

When to replace it?

• Metallic knocking at idle or when closing the throttle.
• Pin marked, blued or scored on teardown.
• Noticeable play between the pin and the small end or the piston bosses.

Check the pin at every piston change and replace it as soon as it is marked, blued or has play. A new pin always goes in with new circlips.

Fitting tips

1. Check that the pin diameter and length match your piston (see specifications).
2. Oil the pin, the small end and the piston bosses, then push the pin in by hand, without forcing it.
3. Fit new piston pin circlips, gap opposite the notch, and check they sit properly in their groove.

Yes, a new piston comes with its pin. This part is for replacing a worn or lost pin, or for completing a piston sold on its own.

Are the circlips included?
No: plan for new piston pin circlips, as they are never reused.
