The machined insert that forms the combustion chamber in a two-piece head: it sets the engine’s compression.
Available in several combustion-chamber volumes.
VHM offers this cylinder head insert for TM RACING MX 85 2025-2026. On a two-piece head, the insert (the "dome") forms the combustion chamber. Its volume and shape set the compression and the character of the engine.
Why change the insert?
The benefits:
- Match the compression to your riding and your fuel without replacing the whole head.
- A part machined from solid, to precise dimensions.
- Replace an insert marked or damaged by detonation.
When should you change the insert?
Signs of detonation, leaking O-rings or the wish to change the compression: the insert can be swapped in minutes, with new O-rings.
Specifications and fitting tips
- Manufacturer part numbers: AE32089-L (Version L (7.40 cc)), AE32089-M (Version M (7.60 cc)), AE32089-P (Version P (7.60 cc)), AE32089-N (Version N (7.80 cc))
Available in several combustion-chamber volumes: a smaller volume raises compression (more punch, quality fuel essential), a larger one lowers it (smoother engine).
Cross-Mania tip: Fit new O-rings, tighten in a cross pattern to the specified torque and, with a higher-compression insert, use high-octane fuel.
