MOTION PRO Hot Start Cable for KAWASAKI KLX 450, KXF 250, KXF 450 and SUZUKI RMZ 250 2004-2019

The MOTION PRO 03-0402 hot start cable is designed for KAWASAKI KLX 450, KXF 250, KXF 450 and SUZUKI RMZ 250 from 2004 to 2019. The hot start lets extra air into the intake so that a hot or flooded four-stroke engine restarts easily. Its cable links the control on the handlebar to the carburettor or throttle body.

Specifications

• Brand: MOTION PRO
• Manufacturer part number: 03-0402
• Black vinyl-covered housing, like the original
• Engine: 4-stroke

When to replace it?

• Control that's stiff or doesn't return.
• Hard to restart when hot, even with the control pulled.
• Frayed cable or damaged outer sheath.

Replace it as soon as it snags: a hot start that stays open raises the idle speed.

Fitting tips

1. Note the routing of the old cable.
2. Fit the new cable along the same route, with no tight bends, and grease its ends.
3. Set the free play: the control must snap back cleanly to the closed position.

Why MOTION PRO?

For its T3 Slidelight cables, Motion Pro measured in-house that a conventional cable housing can wear through to metal-on-metal contact in fewer than 1,200 cycles, whereas its own inner liner lasts 30,000 cycles with minimal wear. With anodised billet aluminium end fittings and a built-in lubricator, the control stays light and smooth over time.
