INNTECK 7.1 x 13 mm set of suspension shims. Available in several thicknesses: 0.100 mm, 0.150 mm.
The INNTECK 7.1 x 13 mm set of suspension shims is a universal part. Shims are thin steel washers stacked on the fork or shock piston. As they flex under oil pressure, they meter the oil flow: their diameter, their thickness and their order in the stack set the compression and rebound damping.
Pick the product matching the hole diameter and outer diameter of your shim (given in the name, e.g. 8 x 26 mm), then the thickness from the list. To rebuild a stock stack, record every shim in order as you strip it; for a revalve, start from a suspension specialist's recommendations.
Three dimensions define a shim: the hole diameter (that of the shaft running through the stack), the outer diameter and the thickness. Measure the diameter with a caliper and the thickness with a micrometer: a few hundredths of a millimetre already change the damping.
Why a set of 10?
A stack often uses several identical shims, and it is handy to keep spares for setup testing.
Can I revalve my suspension myself?
Yes, with a methodical approach and accurate measurements, but a badly built stack can make the suspension dangerous. If in doubt, leave the job to a specialist.
Universal part: check the dimensions given before ordering.
