ATHENA offers this intake valve for KTM EXCF 250, SXF 250, XCF 250, XCFW 250 and HUSABERG FE 250 2005-2013. A four-stroke engine breathes through its valves. The intake valves open to let the air-fuel mixture into the cylinder, then close perfectly tight during combustion.
Titanium or steel valve?
The material is shown in the product name.
- Titanium: about 40% lighter than steel, it allows high revs without valve float; it costs more and its coating wears faster if the seats and guides are tired.
- Steel or stainless: heavier, but very wear-resistant and cheaper; as a replacement for titanium it lasts longer, with springs suited to its weight.
- Tip: replace valves as a set, have the seats checked and fit new valve stem seals.
