The expansion chamber of a 2-stroke engine: its shape determines where the engine makes its power.
DOMA offers this expansion chamber for HONDA CR 80, CR 85 1996-2004. On a 2-stroke, the pressure wave reflected by the pipe helps fill the cylinder: the shape of the cones decides whether the engine pulls low down, in the midrange or at the top end.
Why change the expansion chamber?
The benefits:
- Replace a dented pipe: even a small dent changes the power curve.
- Choose an engine character to suit your riding.
- A clean new pipe, with no leaks at the welds or joints.
When should you replace the expansion chamber?
Dented or cracked pipe, broken mounting brackets or mixture leaking at the joints: replace it, the loss of power is often obvious.
