The bearing that lets the wheel spin freely on its axle.

ATHENA offers this wheel bearing 6905 for HONDA CRF 450 R, GAS GAS EC 250, KAWASAKI KX 250 F and HM MOTO CRE-F 450 X from 2000 to 2027. Each wheel spins on two bearings in the hub, separated by a spacer. Water and mud eventually damage them: play, rough spots, noise.

What is this bearing made of?

Races and balls in hardened chrome steel, 100Cr6 type, very hard and fatigue-resistant, protected by rubber seals.

Double seal (2RS): a seal on each side, very well sealed against water and mud, essential off-road.
Limit: slightly more drag than a metal-shielded bearing (ZZ), which spins more freely but seals far less well.
Fitting: press or drift it in on the outer race, never hammer on the seal; keep the pressure washer away from the hubs.

Why choose ATHENA?

Athena, the Italian manufacturer founded in 1973, is an original-equipment supplier to manufacturers such as KTM and Ducati: the same standards for your replacement parts.

When should you replace the bearings?

Check the wheels for play at every wash with the wheel off the ground: a failing bearing can lock the wheel. Pressure washing forces water in and speeds up wear.
