It is generally molded in light alloy or high-strength composite, offering a good compromise between strength and weight. Its external surface can be anodized, painted or unfinished, depending on aesthetic or technical requirements. Some models incorporate cooling fins or internal reinforcements to improve heat dissipation. The inner face is machined to guarantee a perfect seal with the gasket or O-ring. It protects the clutch mechanism from splashes of mud, sand, stones or oil. Fastening is by standard screws, often with washers or spacers to prevent distortion. The cover provides easy access to the clutch disc and plate for maintenance operations. Available in OEM or racing versions, it can be easily replaced in the event of impact or wear.
