PROX Ignition Cover Gasket for KTM EXC 400, EXC 450, EXC 530 2008-2011

The PROX 19.G96408 ignition cover gasket is designed for KTM EXC 400, EXC 450, EXC 530 from 2008 to 2011. The ignition cover gasket seals between the crankcase and the cover that protects the ignition (flywheel and stator). Depending on the engine, it holds the oil in or keeps water and dust out.

When to replace it?

• Oil seeping around the edge of the ignition cover.
• Water or mud inside the cover after washing.
• Gasket torn or stuck on removal.

Every time the ignition cover comes off: stator check, replacement of an ignition-side crankshaft oil seal or bottom end rebuild.

Fitting tips

1. Clean both gasket faces without scratching them.
2. Fit the gasket dry; a dab of grease can hold it in place during reassembly.
3. Tighten the screws in a criss-cross pattern, without forcing, to the manufacturer's torque.
4. On an engine where the ignition runs in oil, top up the oil level after reassembly.

Can I reuse the old gasket?
No: a paper or fibre gasket tears or stays crushed when removed. If you're opening several covers, a complete engine gasket kit often works out cheaper.
