MOTION PRO Throttle Cable for SHERCO SE 125, SE 250, SE 300 2014-2027

The MOTION PRO 10-0178 throttle cable is designed for SHERCO SE 125, SE 250, SE 300 from 2014 to 2027. The throttle cable links the twistgrip to the butterfly in the carburettor or throttle body. A cable that rubs or frays makes the throttle heavy and can make it stick open: it's a safety part.

When to replace it?

• Heavy twistgrip or slow throttle return.
• Frayed strands, cut or crushed outer sheath.
• Free play that can't be adjusted correctly.

Replace the cable at the first broken strand, or if the twistgrip no longer snaps back cleanly to the closed position.

Fitting tips

1. Note the routing of the old cable before removing it.
2. Route the new cable exactly the same way, with no kinks or rubbing points.
3. Lubricate the ends with a suitable grease.
4. Set the free play as per the manual, then turn the bars to full lock on both sides to check that the revs don't rise.

Why MOTION PRO?

For its T3 Slidelight cables, Motion Pro measured in-house that a conventional cable housing can wear through to metal-on-metal contact in fewer than 1,200 cycles, whereas its own inner liner lasts 30,000 cycles with minimal wear. With anodised billet aluminium end fittings and a built-in lubricator, the control stays light and smooth over time.

Why two cables?
Many bikes have a pull cable and a return cable: the second one closes the throttle even if the throttle spring weakens. Replace them together.
