PROX Front Wheel Bearing Kit for GAS GAS EC 125, EC 200, EC 250, EC 450 2004-2019

The PROX 23.S113064 front wheel bearing kit is designed for GAS GAS EC 125, EC 200, EC 250, EC 450 from 2004 to 2019. Wheel bearings let the wheel turn on its axle. Off-road, water, mud and the pressure washer attack them: they develop play, seize and can warp the disc or wear the hub. This kit brings together the bearings and oil seals of the front wheel, so you can rebuild it in one go.

When to replace it?

• Side play when you rock the wheel top and bottom.
• Wheel turning roughly or unevenly, bearing noise.
• Damaged seals, rust or water in the hub.

Check the wheels for play every time you wash the bike. As a Cross-Mania guideline: replace every 40 to 60 hours of racing or muddy riding, about once a year for leisure riding, and straight away as soon as play appears.

Fitting tips

1. Remove the old bearings with a puller or a bearing drift, without damaging the hub bore.
2. Clean the hub, put the new bearings in the freezer and press them in on the outer race only.
3. Refit the central spacer between the bearings: without it, the bearings get crushed when the axle is tightened.
4. Fit the seals squarely, lips packed with grease.
5. Grease the wheel axle and tighten it to the manufacturer's torque, then check that the wheel turns freely.
