On KTM SX 65, XC 65 from 2001 to 2011, the ATHENA 35x47.4x4.6/14 mm NOK P40FORK455182 fork dust seal kit fits in place of the original part. The dust seal (or wiper) fits above the oil seal, at the top of the fork leg. On every compression stroke it scrapes the mud and dust off the inner tube, which protects the oil seal.

When to replace it?

• Dust seal cracked, hardened or lifting out of the fork leg.
• Mud or sand under the dust seal: the oil seal is at risk.
• Oil seals being replaced: the dust seals are changed at the same time.

Replace the dust seals whenever you replace the oil seals, and as soon as they are cracked. Check the size (in the name) or the original part number.

Fitting tips

1. Lift out the old dust seal with a plastic tool, without scratching the inner tube.
2. Clean the groove in the fork leg and the tube.
3. Grease the lip lightly and press the new one in flat, by hand.
