Why change the suspension oil?
The benefits:
- The suspension gets its original damping back: the bike is more stable and more predictable.
- Clean oil protects the bushes, seals and valves from wear.
- Changing viscosity lets you fine-tune the damping, ideally with advice from a suspension specialist.
When should you replace this part?
Change it at the suspension maker’s intervals and every time the seals are replaced; black oil or damping that fades towards the end of a ride are signs of worn oil.
