The SHOWA noir SHO-3001002 fork free piston seal is designed for HONDA CR 250, CR 500, CRF 250, CRF 450, SUZUKI RM 125, RM 250, RMZ 250, RMZ 450 and KAWASAKI KXF 250 from 1997 to 2012. The free piston slides with every movement of the fork, and its seals wear with the hours. Replacing them when you service the cartridge guarantees consistent damping.

When to replace it?

• Fork damping that changes during a ride.

Fitting tips

1. Servicing a cartridge takes method and the right tools: follow the fork manual or leave it to a suspension specialist.
2. Strip the cartridge, clean all the parts and check the condition of the rod (scratches, pitting).
3. Fit the new part, oiled, without twisting it or damaging it on the threads.
4. Reassemble with fresh fork oil and carefully bleed the air out of the cartridge.
