TNK fork tube chrome - 35 x 650 mm for HONDA XL 500 S, XR 500 1979-1981

TNK offers this fork tube for HONDA XL 500 S, XR 500 1979-1981. A fork is made of two tubes sliding inside each other, on each side of the front wheel. The fork tube (or stanchion) is the smooth one: it slides into the outer leg when the wheel rides over a bump, then comes back out.

Why replace a fork tube?

The benefits:

• Cure an oil leak that keeps coming back despite new seals, caused by pitted or scored chrome.
• Get a freely sliding fork back after a crash that bent the tube.
• A replacement part made to the dimensions and tolerances of the original.

Why choose TNK?

TNK fork tubes, distributed by American suspension specialist Race Tech, are direct replacement tubes to original dimensions with a nickel-chrome finish; they generally cost far less than original-equipment tubes.

When should you replace this part?

Pitted, scored or flaking chrome, a tube bent in a crash, or an oil leak that comes back despite new seals: replace the tube.

Specifications and fitting tips

• Manufacturer part number: 100-0050047

Cross-Mania tip: Compare the diameter, length and machining (grooves, threads) with the original tube, replace the oil seals and dust seals at the same time and protect the tube from sharp edges when fitting the seals.
