On KTM EXCF 250, SXF 250, XCF 250, XCFW 250 from 2006 to 2007, the WISECO acier WSVK6327-E exhaust valve fits in place of the original part. On a four-stroke, the exhaust valve has gases at several hundred degrees flowing past it on every cycle. A tired valve loses compression and makes hot starts difficult.
As soon as the valve clearance no longer holds between two checks. Always replace the valves on the same side together and have the seats recut.
Wiseco forges and machines its pistons in Mentor, Ohio (USA), using forging tooling made in-house. A benchmark for forged motorcycle parts, the brand also produces valves, clutch baskets and clutch plates.
Do both valves need replacing?
Yes, exhaust valves are usually replaced as a pair, with the seats recut.
Titanium or steel?
Steel is more tolerant of wear and is perfectly suited to leisure riding; titanium, which is lighter, is the original choice in many motocross engines. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for the springs.
