When to replace it?

• Black or oily marks at the exhaust outlet.
• Spitting, a leaking noise at idle, backfiring on deceleration.
• Gasket crushed, brittle or burnt on removal.

Every time the header pipe or expansion chamber is removed, and as soon as a leak appears.

Fitting tips

1. Clean the gasket seat on both the engine side and the exhaust side.
2. Fit the new copper ring perfectly flat: it crushes when tightened and can't be reused.
3. Offer up the exhaust without forcing it, fit all the fasteners, then tighten progressively.
4. Warm the engine up, let it cool down and check the tightness again.
