The belt that carries the engine’s power to the wheels on quads, side-by-sides and scooters with automatic transmission (CVT variator).
MITSUBOSHI offers this drive belt for KYMCO MXU 500, UXV 500 2008-2010. A variator (CVT) transmission has no gears to shift: the belt runs between two pulleys whose halves move closer together or further apart depending on engine speed and load.
Why replace the belt in time?
The benefits:
- Get back the acceleration and top speed lost to a worn, slipping belt.
- Avoid a breakdown mid-ride: a belt that snaps leaves the quad stranded, often far from anywhere.
- A reinforced belt copes better with loaded starts, climbs, mud and towing.
When should you replace this part?
Width below the minimum, smooth shiny (glazed) sides, cracks, missing cogs or fraying: replace the belt before it snaps mid-ride.
